Marce believed sports were good for everyone- especially children.
The Marce Herz Foundation carries the namesake of champion skier, youth world-record holder, community advocate and Sky Tavern visionary Marce Herz who believed all children—regardless of economic status—should have the opportunity to ski or snowboard. We carry on her vision today as we share snow sports with our community’s youth through efforts like our Snowriders Program, Far West and NIAA scholarships. Above all, we believe winter sports teach you so much more than just how to ski or snowboard. From clear communication to conquering fears, a day on the mountain can lead to a lifetime of empowerment. That’s why we work to ensure all children have access to the thrill and joy of snow sports.
Celebrating Northern Nevada Ski Culture
Created by NYSEF (now The Marce Herz Foundation), “Nevada Legends of the Fall Line” is a short video that chronicles the history of competitive skiing and competitive freestyle through fast-paced biographies of legendary skiers with strong connections to Northern Nevada.
